Former heavyweight boxer Butterbean has been told Jake Paul would "destroy" him in the ring.
Butterbean has long coveted a fight with YouTuber Paul who has established a record of 10-1 since turning professional in 2020. Earlier this month he stopped bare-knuckle boxer and former UFC star Mike Perry.
And Butterbean, real name Eric Ensch, who is now 57 and has not boxed since 2013, took to social media to make an offer to Paul. "Hey Jake Paul, would you fight me for $2m? Winner takes all," he said."
But while some fans backed the veteran to teach Paul a lesson, several made it clear they thought his offer was a bad idea. One said: "You're awesome Butterbean but Jake is a lot younger and has a hell of a punch." Another wrote: "Butterbean would be destroyed in the first round."
Another user said: "In his prime Butterbean would destroy Jake but saw Butterbean's last fight few months ago looked bad." A final one wrote: "Butterbean is too old for this fight. I would have my money on prime Butterbean though."
Paul is currently taking a break before resuming his training for his fight with Mike Tyson later this year. Paul should have faced the former undisputed heavyweight world champion 10 days ago but Tyson pulled out.
The 58-year-old suffered an ulcer flare-up on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in May and while he initially insisted his bout with Paul would go ahead, he was later forced to postpone it until November 15. The rivals will meet in Texas in front of up to 80,000 fans with Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor clashing on the undercard.
Paul has not responded to Butterbean's offer but did challenge him to a doughnut-eating contest before his fight with Perry. "You look very flubby," Perry said during a face-off. "I'm as hard as a f***ing rock. I'm shredded." Paul responded: "You do look like you're on some growth." Perry: "I'm putting some size on, it's a nice opportunity to get up to 200lb." Paul went on to say: "I love my fat, happy self, Mike. It's good, some fat people... like Butterbean... I bet I could eat more doughnuts than Butterbean."
